Hot off the press. The Honolulu Star Bulletin reports:
"The governor now favors taking $50 million from the rainy day fund to do away with school closings in 2010-11"
"Lingle said part of her decision to change her position and use the rainy day fund came from watching Hawaii debate the issue while she was traveling in China. She said the state needs to refocus on the economy and on creating jobs."
Hmmmm. I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that, while she was in China focusing on the economy and creating jobs, the U.S. Secretary of Education publicly stated that Hawaii was at risk of losing future federal funds because of the stupid decision to reduce the number of instructional days. Or maybe because the entire nation was criticizing Hawaii for messing with our children's education. Or maybe because we are the laughing stock of the entire world, AGAIN!
Whatever the reason is, it is a little too late to do what should gave been done a long time ago. This doesn't change the fact that Lingle's priority was never the children.
GOD HELP OUR CHILDREN!!
IMPEACH Lingle and all those she appointed. They don't represent or look out for the good of the people. She and they only look out for THEMSELVES. We're FED UP with ALL of THEM...
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing how she will try to make the people feel that she cared about the kids all along. She is too much!
ReplyDeleteGod help us if we display our concerns like the way SHE does. In that case, we wouldn't need enemies, would we?
ReplyDeleteImpeach her and especially get rid of inexperienced hires like Laura Thielen. What a laugh, this woman doesnʻt know the first thing about the department and only got her job because of Mommy Thielen.
ReplyDeleteHawaii is too much a special treasure to be entrusted to mediocrities.
Lingle herself has a minimum of education and obviously still is not too adept at acquiring on-the-job skills. But lawbreaking gets around those things.
All garbage.
List of unimportant issues for Lingle and the fake Hawaiian, Iona:
Hawaiians
Children
Resources
Education
Health, hospitals
Homeless (She created)
Rule of Law
Thereʻs a lot more.
Right on! We agree with everything the previous writer said. So true, so very wise. Now, we the people, must come up with something to STOP THEM. Our children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and future generations will be effected by the terrible decisions they are implementing.
ReplyDeleteMy ohana and I cry for the Hawaiian people, past, present and future...too much pilekea...
New addition to LINGLEʻS LIST of CUTWORTHY ISSUES:
ReplyDeleteThe Blind
Put together all of the "ACTIONS" the Gov. and her CHOSEN have done throughout HER administration.....CONNECT the dots! Can you see it????The picture we see is "HITLER". Are we being represented and treated fairly? We don't think or feel so. She seems to be TARGETING the children, poor, seniors, disabled, and the list keeps on growing daily. We'll wake up one morning and see Hawaii is bankrupt and then what?....the bad thing about it, the other politicians ain't doing a DARN THING TO STOP IT...makes us question, ARE THEY BRAIN DEAD?
ReplyDeleteWe can add to the list the recent changes in the EUTF's medical and prescription. Why send the business out of State? Why put the employees AND especially the Retirees through the loops they have set up....? Someone please tell me I'm not going MAD; wake me from this NIGHT MARE...
I think we should fire anyone on the BOE and any dept head of the DOE that voted for school furloughs in the first place! They are truly the ones to blame for this whole fiasco! They suppose to represent a voice for our children and they sold out! They should have never agreed to furloughs and sacrifice our children's future for a quick fix of our sad economy. They should have told the Gov we will not go down that road, we (as BOE) have a job to protect our children's right for a decent education. The BOE suppose to know about the federal funds like "Race to the Top" and go after those federal monies that are out there. They are not doing their jobs and they all should be furloughed indefinitely!
ReplyDeleteYes, but the ultimate push on them was the hard act by Lingle. Lingle is the ultimate yay or nay on this so PLEASE donʻt try to shift any blame from her/him.
ReplyDeleteIt comes down to targets of budget cuts and these are all on Lingle.
I am also disappointed with Hooser. Rather silent but mostly that he has now aligned himself with a hater of Hawaiians...Abercrombie.
Hooser was one of the first to call for a special session and fund school days to end furloughs
ReplyDeleteYea? Whooptee doo doo. He was one of the first to approve $40 million for the Superferry too. Admittedly, he wasnʻt too proud to turn his error around.
ReplyDeleteBut he should have stepped in long before.
It never should have come to a furlough.
Hooser ALREADY knows Lingle has to be watched closely in any decisions she makes.
What, these politicians are all reactionaries without an original thought or action on anything?
In other words, if heʻs worthy to be a ʻlawmakerʻ or ʻleaderʻ, he should have sounded off immediately instead of waiting until it goes into damages.
And that goes for all of them. Worthless pretenders.
And, Abercrombie, the Hawaiian hater, the
ReplyDeleteO N L Y reason he stepped in on the furlough issue is because he smelled ʻfederal fundsʻ and they were about to be lost due to this administrations stupidity.
If Abercrombie had his way, heʻd allow public education for military families only.
WOW we have an intelligent discussion from all you well informed citizens. it's good to know that some of the citizens are keeping up with politics and are not afraid to voice their opinions. I'm learning a lot and sharing info with ohana to.
ReplyDeleteWe need to stop accepting anything thatʻs dished out just because they say so.
ReplyDeleteHave an idea. Itʻs radical though:
Organize kind of a strike, only the opposite of a strike....whereas the teachers and students go back to school and ignore the furlough; to demand their right to an education.
Wouldnʻt that be a revolution that the kids could get into too? Like reverse psychology on wanting to go to school.
Afterwards, the teachers would demand back pay for the days they ignored the furloughs.
